DO YOU REMEMBER TETRIS?

A timeline on now sequences and how to recognize when you're in one.

Do you remember Tetris?

The blocks falling. The way each one had to fit just right — had to connect to what was already there. When it worked, the line cleared and you kept building. When it didn't, the gaps piled up and eventually the whole thing collapsed.

A now sequence works the same way.

What now actually is

Before we talk about a now sequence, we have to talk about now itself — because now and time are not the same thing.

Time moves. It folds in on itself. It contracts. It can loop back around and land you in the same place you started if you're not paying attention.

Now expands.

Now is not a moment that passes. It is a point that always exists — right here, right in this. And when you are operating from now, each moment connects to the next. Each block fits. The sequence keeps building, keeps evolving, keeps expanding into more of itself.

That is a now sequence.

What a now sequence is not

The opposite of a now sequence is what I call a now cleanse.

A now cleanse is something that happened once, in time, with nothing connected to it. It doesn't evolve. It doesn't build. It lands, and then it stops. Like a Tetris block that falls into a gap and disappears without clearing anything.

Not everything that happens to you is a now sequence. Some things are just moments in time — complete in themselves, not meant to evolve further. That is not failure. That is just the difference between time and now.

The student loan forgiveness I wrote about in the last timeline — that is a now sequence. It started with paperwork during COVID. It connected to film school. It expanded into debt forgiveness. And now it is expanding into homeownership. Each block fits into the next. The sequence is still building.

That is now doing what now does.

How to recognize when you're in one

This is where it gets personal — because recognizing a now sequence is not a formula. It is according to your will. It is a relationship you develop with yourself.

But there are steps toward it.

The first is trust. You have to be able to trust in every moment — even when the block looks like it won't fit, even when the instruction doesn't make sense yet. Trust is what keeps the sequence moving.

The second is presence. Make your mark in every moment. Connect with yourself the way people connect with things they do religiously — the way they pray, the way they give offerings. That level of intention, that level of consistency, applied inward. Not to a system outside yourself. To the relationship you have with you.

When that relationship is developed — when you are present enough, trusting enough, connected enough — you will be able to tell. You will know when you are in now and when you have drifted out of it. Not because someone told you. Because you built the discernment yourself.

The sequence keeps going

Now fits into now.

That is the whole thing. Every moment of presence you bring, every instruction you honor, every block you place with intention — it connects to the next one. And the next one connects to the one after that.

You are not just living moments. You are building a sequence that expands into something your future self will one day look back on and recognize.

The dots only connect looking back.

But now is where you place them.

Enjoy your now.
